Silent Facade

Once more met up with SYJ for dinner last week, with the addition of Chris. Shah wanted to eat Pizza Hut and suggested the one at Far east Square. Upon reaching there, surprisingly found Ying the first one on site. Perhaps I didn't realise, but the Sun must have risen from the West that day.

Pizza Hut was practically empty and both Ying and me were just hanging aroud outside until Shah came. Maybe it was his face, but I suspect most likely it was a combination of that and his ugly striped shirt. The moment when Shah arrived, the restaurant manager gave a grimace and flipped the Open sign to Closed before scurrying back in.

Just as we thought we'll end up squating beside Pizza Hut eating cup noodles, someone got hit by lightening and turned brillant, suggesting to go TCC (or is it coffee club?) at Raffles Place.

June and Chris joined when we were about halfway through. Dinner was peppered with the usual intelligent conversation. Even so, I shouldn't hang out with this lot so often. Why? Just look at this photo.

If everytime we've dinner together and one (see previous post) or the other (see above) show such glum faces, I'm not confident of squeezing a free meal out of them (or was it because of this?).

After dinner, while Chris went off to salsa his calories away, the rest of us adjoined to Golden Mile coffeeshop to chit chat. Ying told us an incredible tale, but one that didn't involved beings in white or flying objects.

Simply said, Ying told us that her friend's friend went to Bangkok and while shopping saw a chow-chow. Seeing it, Y'sF'sF bought the dog as it was sold cheaper than in Singapore. As per regulations, the dog was quarantined by AVA for a month before returning to the owner.

Sometime after getting the pet back, the owner felt the dog was eating too much for its size. Upon the advice of a friend, the chow-chow was brought to a vet. It was then the revelation came. The chow-chow was in fact a bear cub!

I don't know how true it is, but a month at AVA and no one discovered this? And do bear cubs even bark? If it's true, there are a lot more stupid people out that than I realise.
